I’m just a regular guy with an obsession for shooting sports, outdoor adventures, survival tactics, and all things tactical. My fascination with gear started when I was a teenager. I grew up in the 90s and 2000s watching Predator, Commando, and Rambo—movies that sparked a lifelong interest in bushcraft, survival, and military-style equipment. Back then, I thought my career would involve using awesome gear every day, but life had other plans. Instead, I found my calling in a completely different field. I don’t work in any military, sensitive or dramatic fields but my professional obligations and commitments has me refraining from sharing my identity online. I am also actively involved in an advisory capacity for Airsoft in Canada (ASIC).

Despite my professional life, my inner child never left—only now, I have a much bigger budget to chase my passion. I have spent more money than my wife would like on tactical nylon and top of the line gear for my hobbies. Night vision, outdoor backpacks, optics, chest rigs, plate carriers, camouflage and tactical equipment are all part of the things I am interested in.

Over the years, I’ve gone through every stage of the gear-buying journey including but not limited to denial, depression and acceptance. I’ve spent my hard-earned money on everything from cheap reproductions on AliExpress to commercial-grade equipment and custom, bespoke gear. I’ve made mistakes, learned tough lessons, and refined my understanding of what truly works. I am still learning but compared to many of my peers, I am generally quite demanding in what I ask my gear to endure.  

My mission is simple: to test and evaluate outdoor, tactical, and survival gear in real-world conditions so you can make informed decisions.
